Finding the best builder for you. There are a lot of aspects you need to look out for when selecting a good builder. Questions and answers you should consider include the following:
Is he or she capable of running a team? Did all their previous projects run smoothly and what problems have they encountered in previous building projects? Do their jobs usually finish as planned and to schedule? Were all the cost estimates accurate and what is the margin for error in any of the building work estimates? Is the builder helpful and creative in solving any building design or problems that might occur?
Above all get client testimonials / references on any previous building work carried out and investigate at least 2 to 4 references, thoroughly. If at all possible visit the homes of the references where the building work was carried out.
Ask your prospective builders if they belong to the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) or any other UK national or local building organisation. Then you can check with that organisation to see if the builder is a member in good standing.
Further points that should be considered :
Look for a builder who constructs the type and size of home you want built. Select a builder with experience. Look for signs of roof leaks when you visit the references house. Check that the walls are straight.
Garden Centres and garden suppliesGarden Centres can make a great day out. The best ones are equipped with childrens play areas, some (the very best) even have mini zoos or trains for the children to play on. This leaves you the time to go and search out all your garden supplies. So many of the garden centres have many items you can use in the home as well.
Once you have finished all your shopping for garden plants, bedding plants, perennials and shrubs, what better way to finish the day than in the restaurant or cafeteria of the garden centre?
Even during the winter months they are a great place to visit, and at Christmas time you should definitely visit your garden centre as the majority have a large variety of Christmas decorations, and most run imaginative and attractive grottoes and display.

The right plumber Finding a good and reliable plumber can be a daunting task. In fact, it is a good idea to actually have two or three plumbers lined up locally for any plumbing work that you need to be carried out.
In some instances it is critical that you have a plumber that is on the gas safe register, formerly the gas corgi register. Keep an eye out for the yellow Gas safe register triangle. Do bear in mind that rates for a Gas safe registered plumber can be higher., as they will need to spend more in order to meet strict safety guidlines, but when when you need work doing on your gas central heating or your boiler, this reassurance is crucial.
That being said when it is just a small plumbing job (such as a small water leak) you may have another telephone number at hand for the less qualified plumber.
Either way you should keep a few numbers handy as plumbers are always very busy and if the weather takes a turn for the worse, i.e., gets really cold you can almost guarantee that all the plumbers will be completely tied up.
